Resilience and climate adaptions - Fullført.

In collaboration between the Nordic Green Building Councils, a number of topics during the year will be discussed from a Nordic perspective. The fourth topic is the theme Resilience and Climate Adaption.

Climate change has an impact on buildings and the urban environment. Buildings and infrastructure will be affected by sea-level rise, intense rainstorms and fast floods. Therefore, it is important for companies and building owners to recognize the impact, and analyze the risks and opportunities that climate changes will have on their business and assets. The risk can be both Physical risk, i.e. direct damage to the asset, and Transitional risk, which may impact reputation, market status, insurance and financing. It is also important for architects and engineers to be aware of the risks, and take them into account when designing buildings, infrastructure, neighborhoods and cities.

In the next GBC Nordic webinar we will learn about the effects of climate change in the Nordic countries and what kind of risk it has on buildings and the urban environment. We will also show examples of solutions on how to make buildings and urban environments more resilient.
